Bermuda (officially, The Bermuda Islands or The Somers Isles) is a British overseas territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. Located off the east coast of the United States, it is situated around 1770 km (1,100 mi) northeast of Miami, Florida and 1350 km (840 mi) south of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The nearest landmass is Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, about 1030 km (640 mi) west-northwest (see Geography section below)

It is the oldest and most populous remaining British overseas territory, settled by England a century before the Acts of Union that created the Kingdom of Great Britain.
Nationals of the following countries require Bermuda entry visas with effect from 15 September
2004. This list replaces that issued on 15 January 2003.

• have the right to reside in the United States (Permanent Resident), Canada (Permanent
Resident) or the United Kingdom (no limit on stay in the United Kingdom); and
• are in possession of proof of such status and a valid passport; do not require Bermuda entry
visas.
